George F. Smith, of Warsaw, passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on December 5, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, George, a talented photographer and dedicated professional, led a life rich in creativity and service, leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered by many.
George's journey began at Bethany Christian High School, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors. He continued his education at Goshen College, further honing his skills and passion for photography and service. His career encompassed various roles, including working as a photographer, a driver, and in technical customer service, where he was honored with the prestigious CDL-Ace Award for his exceptional commitment to customer satisfaction.
A proud member of the International Freelance Photographers Organization, George's enthusiasm for his craft was evident in every project he undertook. His keen eye for detail and artistic vision brought joy to countless clients, while his friendly demeanor and professionalism made him a beloved figure in the industry.
George is survived by his wife, Angela, who stood by his side through life's joys and challenges. He was also a loving father to Abigail (Smith) Gordon, Naomi Smith, and Josiah Smith, and grandfather to Avalyn Gordon, who continue to carry his spirit forward. He was preceded in death by his adoptive mother, Mattie D. (Harris) Smith, whose love and guidance shaped him into the man he became.
Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services is entrusted with George's care. A celebration of George's life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 1:00 pm at New Harvest Church of the Nazarene, 1654 Fisher Ave, Warsaw, IN 46580. The family is requesting people to write a letter sharing a favorite memory and bring it to the gathering or email it to [email protected]. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the family's GoFundMe account on Facebook or to Bethany Christian High School, 2904 S Main St, Goshen, IN 46526.
