George R. Thomason, age 57 died Monday, August 11, 2025 at his home in Remer surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with cancer.

George Reed Thomason was born March 14, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois. He is the son of Katherine Ann "Ann" Thomason. George was raised and loved by Mr. and Mrs. Black.

When he was a young man, he had church members take him in and helped him change his life around. Their assistance made all the difference. He became a Spiritual Leader for the youth of church and he drew much strength from his strong Christian faith.

George, also known as "Pappa", worked lots of jobs and was a very hard worker. He was a good handyman and a cook and would always be willing to assist someone in need.

He became the proud father to a daughter, Candy and a son, George.

On May 5, 2023, George married his soulmate and the love of his life, Jacqueline "Jackie" Dotseth. They were so blessed to find each other so late in life. Geno and Jackie were so in love and it showed. Jackie was a fantastic caregiver to George who she fondly called Geno.
George is survived by his wife, Jackie; daughter, Candy (Jersey) Mason, son, George Jackson (Caylee); his step-children, Rachel (Casey) McKeig, Nate Dotseth, Sarah Haffner, and Kiya; many grandchildren; mother, Ann; siblings, Carmen, Gwen, Greg, and Spring; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his infant son, Nathaniel; brother, Bobo; and his uncles who were important to him.

A family service to honor his life is being held at Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids, MN.

Arrangements are with Rowe Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Grand Rapids, MN. To sign the online guestbook or send condolences visit www.rowefuneralhomeandcrematory.com.
