George Toth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gramer Funeral Home - Clawson on Nov. 5, 2025.
George John Toth, a proud lifelong resident of Warren, Michigan, passed away on October 31, 2025, at the age of 72, after facing ALS with remarkable courage and grace. He died surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, joyful living, and deep devotion to his family.
Born in Detroit at Saratoga Hospital on January 16, 1953, George was the beloved son of Kalman and Anna Toth. He graduated from Center Line High School in 1971 and quickly built a life defined by resilience, generosity, and an infectious enthusiasm for life's simple pleasures.
George always showed up. During his 15 years with the City of Warren's Sanitation and Water Department-and even earlier at TRW and Atena Industries-he was known for his reliability, quick humor (often with a touch of sarcasm), and willingness to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Though he retired in 2010, the difference he made-and the warmth he shared-continue to live on.
Above all, George's heart belonged to his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and uncle-the kind of man who lit up when his grandchildren walked into the room. Their laughter was his favorite music. His bond with those he loved was unshakable and tender.
George is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Jane, whom he married on October 23, 1992, in Harper Woods. He leaves behind his son, Jason (Kristin) Jweda, and two grandchildren he adored, Olivia and Liam. His memory also lives on in the hearts of his extended family and countless friends who were blessed to know him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kalman and Anna Toth, and his siblings: Kalman (Fanny) Toth, Ronald Toth, Theresa (the late Fred) Lowry, and Tina (Pete) Dale.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with a service at 1:00 PM, at Gramer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, Clawson, MI 48017 (Livernois between 14 and 15 Mile Roads). George's final resting place will be Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
In honor of George's strength and spirit, memorial donations may be made to Team Gleason, supporting ALS patients and awareness, or to Henry Ford Hospice. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of George, please visit our floral store.
