Georgie I. Burstert, age 88 of Brookfield, formerly of the Wien area, died Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Life Care Center of Brookfield. Georgie was born in Bucklin, Missouri on December 9, 1933 to John and Cecil (Teeter) Wolfskill. She married Orville Burstert on October 2, 1954 and he preceded her in death.
Georgie was a graduate of Bucklin High School and had worked at Walsworth Publishing in the proofreading department. She was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Wien.
She is survived by a son, Phillip Burstert and Kathy of Brookfield, daughter Karlene Ewigman and Richard of Centralia, six grandchildren, Jessica Colson and David, Amie Burstert, Jason Burstert, Erik Burstert and Marissa, Amanda Lewis and Shawn, and Tony Ewigman and Chelsea, seven great grandchildren, Gabriel Norman, Elysia Colson, Xander Burstert, Vereesa Colson, Caiden Burstert, Leisel Burstert, and Theo Ewigman, brother-in-law Wayne and Mary Lou Burstert of New Cambria, sister-in-law Rosetta Wolfskill of the state of Michigan and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Helen Frisbie, Elizabeth Ervie, Betty Williams, Elsie Kunkel, and brothers Leonard Wolfskill and John Wolfskill Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Thursday, May 26, 2022 at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Wien with visitation starting at 10 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wien. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice and these may be mailed to Delaney Funeral Home 1720 N Missouri Ave., Marceline, MO 64658.
