It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald (Gerry) Carlton Duncan on February 5th, 2025. He was born on September 7th, 1945 and raised in Farmington, New Mexico. Proud father of Gerald Jr (Kim), John, Steve (Lisa), Jake (Lauren), and Jessie (Alex). Cherished grandfather of Elaina and Ashton. Beloved partner to Cheryl. Devoted-Dachshund caretaker to Dolly and Jolene. He is also survived by countless loving friends, neighbors, and co-workers.
Gerry was a performer. He was a musician of various instruments such as the organ and piano/keyboard. He also performed above and beyond as a professional, a colleague, a father, a partner, and a friend. His incredible selflessness, passion, dedication and genuine love impacted every single person he interacted with. It did not matter what the problem was - Gerry was going to solve it. And every conversation involved at least one good (and sometimes long) story from his past and at least one goofy commentary. He gave his 100% to everything and everyone in his life without fail.
One of Gerry's lifelong passions was collecting. He loved discovering, collecting, caring for and restoring the many things he collected, from cowboy boots to decorative spoons to Native American Kachinas and clay pots. A sampling of some of his favorites will be available to view at his service. Above all though, Gerry's favorite things to collect and care for were the relationships he had with all of the people in his life, of which there were many.
There will be a memorial service on February 9th, 2025 at 1PM at Sinai Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, we invite you to honor his passion for The Milton H. Erickson Foundation with a contribution.
