Gerald Duane "Buggs" Magnuson, 76, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on July 29, 2022 at his home. He was born on September 22, 1945 in Linton, Indiana son of the late Harold Swan and Minnie (Jackson) Magnuson. Gerald was a graduate of Salem High School class of 1964. While living in St. Augustine, Florida, Gerald owned and operated G. D. Magnuson Painting LLC. After moving to Texas, Gerald retired from Tree of Life Southwest, a Natural Foods and Vitamins Distribution Company where he dedicated many years of service. Gerald enjoyed reading, hiking and camping, planting trees, gardening, and a good long road trip with his dogs and "rider by his side".
In addition to his parents Gerald was preceded in death by his brother, Darrell Lee Magnuson. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Veronica (Krupp) Magnuson; a son, Jerry Duane Magnuson; his brother, Jerry Leon Magnuson(Nancy); along with 2 grandchildren Taylor Duane Magnuson(Lyndsey) and Gwyneth Woodruff (Hanz); 4 nieces and nephews, Melissa Beswick (Bill), Justin Magnuson (Sherry), Joshua Magnuson (Rachel), Zoe ZurSchmiede (Johnny) along with many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation was chosen and entrusted with Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. There will be a Private Celebration of Life held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Texas State Forensic Anthropology Center, https://www.txst.edu/anthropology/facts/donations.html. Having been a long time member of the Sierra Club, in honor of Gerald's past contributions, donations would also be appreciated, www.sierraclub.org
