Obituary published on Legacy.com by Atkins Northland Funeral Home - Cloquet on Nov. 10, 2025.
Gerald "Jerry" Maslowski, of
Cloquet, MN, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, at the age of 85. He was born on January 23, 1940, in Chicago, IL, to Helen (Olson) and Bernard Maslowski, and he was the oldest of seven children.
The family moved to Cloquet when he was young, and he graduated from Cloquet High School in 1958. Jerry spent eight years in the Army Reserve and worked at The Northwest Paper Company (later Potlatch, later Sappi) as a millwright and instrument shop lead. He worked there until his retirement in 2001. He had most recently been a resident of Evergreen Senior Living in Cloquet.
Jerry married Nancy (Johnson) Maslowski, of Esko, in August 1969. They raised three children, Denise, Sariina, and Jason, first in Scanlon, then in Esko. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with the guys and made countless trips to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Rapid City, SD. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, working in the garage, and taking care of the yard. He was a "Trekkie" to the core, was an avid fan of Star Trek, Star Wars, and all things science fiction. Jerry never passed up a chance to grab candy and junk food on his trips to Walmart, especially KinderJoy Eggs and collectible toys. He was a genuinely happy person who enjoyed chatting with everyone he met.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 54 years, Nancy; son, Jason; parents, Helen and Bernard; parents-in-law, Norma and Hugo; brother, Scott; sister-in-law, Sun; brother-in-law, Ken; and grandson, Joshua.
He is survived by his daughters, Denise (Chuck) Smith and Sariina (Eric) Kalli; grandchildren, Veronica Henschel, Solana Angell, David Angell, Sierra Kalli, Chase Kalli, Kaz Maslowski, and Logan Maslowski; and great grandchildren, Kyra, Rylei, Sophia, CaliBrynn, Drew, Elizabeth, Benjamin, and Erica; siblings, Mick (Rita), Barb Souminen, Jack (Mary), Jim (Jan), and Sue (Joe) Ulsby; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.
