Gerald J. Sauve, 64, of Malone/Long Sault Ontario, went to be with his lord and savior on July 1, 2025, at the University of Vermont Hospital in Burlington with his family by his side. Gerald was born on April 29, 1961, to the late Leo and Margaret (O'Conner) Sauve in Malone, NY being one of fifteen children. He was a graduate of Franklin Academy in 1980. Gerald retired from Bare Hill Correctional Facility in August, 2012 after 25 years of service. Gerald was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and active member in the Flower Hill Hunting Club. He was a proud member of the New Beginnings Church in Malone. Gerald was a devoted husband, marrying Debbie Flegel on August 22, 2015, where they combined two families as one. He was his children's biggest supporter and was respected by community members, friends, family, and co- workers. Gerald is survived by his wife Debbie, his children; Ryan and Kari Sauve of Malone, their two daughters; Chelsea and Ross Carnie of Cazenovia, their three sons; Nick and Samantha De Bellefeuille of Ottawa, Ontario, their daughter; and Sabrina De Bellefeuille of Montreal Quebec; six brothers and three sisters. He is predeceased by his brothers Eugene, Ramond, Lawrence, Lloyd, and a sister in infancy. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 2pm to 5pm at the New Beginnings Church, 227 West Main Street, Malone. Funeral service will follow at 5pm with Pastor Derek Trudell officiating. There will be a celebration of life at the Malone Elks Lodge following completion of the service.
