Visitation for Geraldine C. Blumm, 91, will be Friday, October 3 from 10:30am-11:30am, immediately followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am at Holy Archangels Parish, St. Hubert Campus, 729 Grand Canyon St., Hoffman Estates.
Born December 22, 1933 in Chicago to the late William and Katherine Rebhan, she peacefully passed away with family by her side on August 18, 2025 in Schaumburg.
A graduate of Mundelein College Geraldine (Gerry) moved to Colorado to begin her career as an elementary teacher. She enjoyed life in Colorado but ultimately made the decision to move back to Chicago where she married and started a family in Des Plaines. She resumed teaching at St. Zachary School. Upon retiring from teaching, she moved to Bloomingdale where she continued to be active working with St. Vincent DePaul and the local food bank. She continued her volunteerism, when she moved to Friendship/Encore Village in Schaumburg. Most importantly, Gerry enjoyed a full life, traveling throughout the world, often with her children and grandchildren.
Loving mother of Steve (Lisa), John (Molly), Kathy (Jake Gibbons), Carol (Eric Monari), Kris (Greg Gibbons); beloved grandmother of Joshua, Lauren, Stephanie, Megan and Evan; cherished great-grandmother of Colt, Ryker, Henley, Wyatt and Paityn; adored sister of Ann, Eileen and brother Will, cousin to JoAnne Breedlove. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank. Gerry will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
