Geraldine "Gerry" A. Furgason, 88, of Sun City, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, at Palm Gardens of Sun City.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, to Molter and Louise Kernen, Gerry was educated in Catholic schools and graduated from Presentation Academy. During her high school years, she worked at the Iroquois Amphitheater's summer musical productions and at Stewart's Department Store. After graduation, she joined the writing staff at WAVE-TV in Louisville.

In 1957, Gerry married Miles Furgason in Louisville, beginning a life as a proud Marine Corps spouse. For twenty years, she and Miles raised their family while living on military bases across the country.

A gifted artist and sculptor, Gerry served as administrator of the Louisville, Kentucky Art Gallery in downtown Louisville. She later taught fine art through Jefferson County Adult Education and as part of the Michaels Stores Art Department staff. Her earlier works can be viewed at The Last Picasso. She also shared her life stories and experiences through her legacy website, Out The Back Window.

Gerry was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Miles Furgason, and her brother, Paul (Mary Frances) Kernen. She is survived by her sisters, Jean Thomson and Connie (John) Vallee; her children, Duayne (Najla) Furgason, Duion (Alisa) Furgason, Geralyn (Tim) Cox, and Duyn (Sarah) Furgason; as well as extended family and friends who will remember her with love and admiration.

Her artistic talent, dedication to family, and rich life experiences leave a lasting legacy to all who knew her.
