Geraldine Orman, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on December 14, 1934, in Mississippi, Geraldine dedicated her life to her family and her passions, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever be cherished.
As a proud homemaker, Geraldine's days were filled with gardening, sewing beautiful creations, and nurturing her family with kindness and devotion. Her love for her children, Steven (Bridgett) and Chris Orman, she delighted in playing with her grandkids; Mark Orman, Mack Walls, Ethan Brooks, Cody Phillips, Levi Orman, and Leighann Orman, the joy they brought into her life was immeasurable, she was awaiting great grandson Chrisian Griggs Orman who is due in October. Geraldine's caring spirit extended beyond her immediate family; she was also a loving sister to Ann Taylor, Maxine Willis, and Joe Lumpkin, and a supportive sister-in-law to Janie and Judy Lumpkin. She will be remembered fondly by a host of nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Geraldine was preceded in death by: Overa Griggs Lumpkin, Luther Griggs, Leslie Orman, John Lumpkin and Gary Lumpkin.
In addition to her nurturing role as a homemaker, Geraldine shared her creative talents as a hairstylist and contributed her skills to the community by working in a furniture factory. Her zest for life and unwavering dedication to her passions are lasting reflections of the remarkable woman she was.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23,2025 from 5:00- 7:00 PM at Glenfield Funeral Home in New Albany, MS. A second visitation will take place on Friday from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM at Glenfield Funeral Home. With a celebration of life service to follow at 2:00 PM.As we gather to honor Geraldine's memory, May her spirit continue to inspire and uplift all who knew her.
In Lieu of flowers, family kindly requests donations to help honor her memory through contributions toward her funeral service which can be made at Glenfield Funeral Home.
