Gilbert Carabajal, 50, of Rowlett and formerly of Olton, died Saturday, February 15, 2025, at his home in Rowlett. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Olton Cemetery under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Gilbert was born October 20, 1974, in Littlefield, Texas, to Pete and Ester (Rosalez) Carabajal. A 1993 graduate of Olton High School, Gilbert attended West Texas A&M University. He worked at UPS in Amarillo for over 20 years where everyone knew him as "Lil Brown". After moving to Rowlett, Gilbert worked as the assistant manager and parts specialist for AutoZone. Gilbert always had a smile on his face and was a hard worker. He had an amazing work ethic and went above and beyond for those he worked with and for his customers. His family was his number one priority, especially his son, Zach. He loved grilling out and serving his family and he could always make his mom laugh when they were visiting. Gilbert also enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and just building random things. Rest in peace brother Gilbert "JuJu", you will be missed.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his father, Pete G. Carabajal, his paternal grandmother, Seferina G. Carabajal, his maternal grandmother, Genoveva Rosalez, and two uncles, Jose Angel Carabajal and Gilberto Rosalez.
Survivors include his mother, Ester Carabajal of Dayton, his son, Zachary Carabajal and his fiancé Kaiyah Gomez of Canyon, his maternal grandfather, Gilbert Rosalez of Escobares, and two sisters, Linda Carabajal and Laura Carabajal, both of Rockwall.
