Gilbert Paul Hall

Funeral services for Mr. Gilbert Paul Hall will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Solid Rock Full Gospel Holiness Church, Oberlin, with Bishop Rodney Botley, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Soileau, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Mr. Hall, 81, of Oberlin, entered eternal rest on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria, LA.

On February 14, 1945, Gilbert Paul Hall was born to his proud parents, Otis Hall, Sr. and Corrina Ceaser Hall. He was born at home in Soileau, Louisiana. He confessed Christ at a pivotal moment in his life, which led him to reunite with Solid Rock Full Gospel Holiness Church. Gilbert was a hardworking and honorable man who would give you the shirt off his back or his last dollar to anyone in need. He had a deep passion for music and singing, and he loved spending his time fishing or gathering with family. At every family gathering, he was known to share a speech, sharing a few heartfelt words with everyone. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Otis, Sr. and Corrina Hall; five brothers, Clarence Hall, Leo Hall, Dennis Hall, Ernest Hall, and McKinley Hall; three sisters, Rose Hall, Mary Hall Victorian, and Etonia Hall; two brothers-in-law, Zem Victorian and Houston Pitre; and one sister-in-law, Deloris Hall.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include four brothers, John Otis Hall, Jr. (Eura) of Fenton, Joseph Hall of Bayview, Texas, Wilbert A. Hall of Oberlin, and Amos M. Hall (Darlene) of Lake Charles; two sisters, Lena Hall Pitre of Hercules, California, and Lucinda Hall Sterling (Gerald) of Lake Charles; one brother-in-law, David Adam of Lafayette; one sister-in-law, Theresa Hall of Oberlin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin, on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. until time of departure to the church.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Howard Hall, Damien Hall, Gerald Mayes, Cleveland Collins Hall, Dwayne Anthony DeClouette, Jr., and Connor Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Hall, Luke Hall, Cleveland Hall, Michael Hall, Kenneth Hall, and Caleb Hall.
