Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rush Funeral Home - Oberlin on Dec. 16, 2025.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sandra Kay Grey Mills will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin, with Reverend Greg Willis officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklin Springs Cemetery, Oberlin, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Sandra Kay Mills, 73, was born on September 22, 1951, and passed away on December 14, 2025. The seventh of ten children, she was known as "Kay" by her family and friends, and you couldn't talk about her without mentioning her loud, one-of-a-kind, contagious laugh that made everyone around her laugh too. She graduated from Briarfield Academy in Lake Providence in 1970, later married Jeffery Robert Mills, and together they had a daughter, Candice Rayne Mills. Kay was also the proud grandmother of one granddaughter, Kaylyn Credeur P'Pool.
Kay was someone you noticed right away, the life of the party who never met a stranger and made everyone feel welcome. She loved shopping, jewelry, and football, but what mattered most was helping others, even giving away her own jewelry to brighten a stranger's bad day.
One of the things her daughter admired most was how Kay made friends and kept them for life-people didn't just come and go, they stayed. Candice also cherished the deep bond Kay shared with Kaylyn, who brought her true joy and a love she never knew was possible.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include one daughter, Candice Mills; one granddaughter, Kaylyn Credeur P'Pool (Morgan); her siblings, Martha Harvard, Judy Whitaker, Charlon Monceaux (Gregory), Ronnie Grey (Rick), and Steve Grey (Tammy); and numerous nieces and nephews, all the way to great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Mills; her parents, Johnnie and Jessie Grey; and her siblings, Johnnie Grey, Jr., Donavan Grey, Roger Grey, and Glenda Vincent.
A time of visitation will be held in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin, on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Jason Credeur, Tyler Thompson, Gary Thompson, Charles Whitaker, Reese Young, and Brandon Grey. Honorary pallbearer will be Donavan Grey, Jr.
The family would like to thank the staff of Brighton Bridge Hospice and her loving sister and brother-in-law, Charlon and Gregory Monceaux, for the care given to her over the last four years.
Kay lived loudly, loved deeply, and left behind laughter, love, and memories that will stay with her family and friends forever.
