Gilbert "Gil" Toy

Gilbert Daniel "Gil" Toy, 45, of Loogootee, Indiana passed away on Thursday June 26, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on March 13, 1980, in Washington, Indiana to William D. "Bill" and Gina (Jones) Toy. Gil graduated from Loogootee High School and went on to continue his education at Vincennes University. He was a devoted reader and long-time member of St. John Catholic Church.
Throughout his career, Gil managed Toy's Auto Parts Store in Bicknell, Indiana where he built lasting friendships with customers and coworkers alike. He was a big fan of the North Daviess Cougars.
Gil had a special place in his heart for his dog Pepper, but above all, his greatest joy was his son, Max, and the time they spent together as a family. His love for his family was unwavering, and his memory will be cherished by all that knew him.
Gil is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Virginia Toy, and Russel and Maxine Jones.
He is survived by his parents, Bill and Gina Toy, his son, Maxwell Toy, his brothers, Nick (Jaymie) Toy, Alex Toy, Alan (Jill) Toy, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 A.M Wednesday July 2, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 1, 2025, from 2:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M and again on Wednesday morning from 9:00 A.M until 9:45 A.M all at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to North Daviess Athletic Department and St. John Catholic Church.
