Gilman Damboise Obituary
Gilman was born on May 27, 1946, in Caribou, ME and was one of 10 children of the late Paul J. and Cecile (Bernier) Damboise.
He was raised and attended school in northern Maine before settling in Bristol in 1964. Gilman served in the Vietnam War for the United States Army. After his service, he and Jeanne wed on August 3, 1968.
Gilman was employed by the Sheet Metal Workers Local 40 in Hartford for 40+ years before his retirement. He was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Church, Bristol.
Gilman enjoyed hunting, gardening, and any type of construction especially projects withfamily and friends.
In addition to his loving wife of 56 years, Gilman is survived by four sons: Shawn Damboise and wife, Andrea, Mark Damboise, Ryan Damboise, and Scott Damboise and wife, Abby; six siblings: Irvin, Vincent, Clinton, and Paul Damboise, Pauline Harris, and Maxine Thibodeau; three grandchildren: Luke, Abby, and Ethan; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three brothers: Galen, Bryant, and Vernon Damboise.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (April 12, 2025) at 10 AM at St. Gregory the Great Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol on Friday, April 11, 2025 between 5 and 7 PM.
