Giulio Buccella

Giulio Buccella, age 82, died August 12, 2023 after a lengthy illness at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers. He was the husband of Olga (DiCroce) Buccella. He was born in Sulla Villa, Italy to the late Giuseppe and Maddalena (Eramo) Buccella.
Giulio immigrated to the United States in his early 20s. He worked for Connelly Brothers and the United Shoe as a masonry worker. He worked for Kenneth Berg as a mason for many years. He enjoyed spending his time in Maine where he was able to build a second home and tend to his apple orchard. He enjoyed working in his vegetable gardens with his wife and cooking for both the Patria e Lavoro Society and Italian Community Center's monthly meals with his son, Paolo. Giulio was the Sergeant at Arms for the Patria e Lavoro Society for many years. He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. He also loved making wine and did this for many years. He was extremely generous and always welcoming of everyone in his home.
In addition to his wife Olga with whom they shared 62 years of marriage with is a son, Mario Buccella of Peabody; two daughters, Elvira Buccella of Peabody, Diana DeSantis and her husband Michael of Danvers; two grandchildren, Mason DeSantis and Isabella DeSantis. He was predeceased by a son, Paolo G. Buccella. He leaves behind three sisters, Maria (Buccella) Troiani, Nelsa (Buccella) DiCicco and Delia (Buccella) Carlone all of Italy. He is predeceased by a brother, Erminio Buccella, also of Italy. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews both in Italy and Massachusetts.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street Beverly on Friday, August 18, at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours prior at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Burial will be at Central Cemetery, Beverly.
