Publish in a newspaper

Gladys Reck Blumrick, of El Campo, Texas passed away after a brief illness on July 16, 2025 at the age of 87 in Houston, Texas. She was born on December 29, 1937 to Frank Reck and Emillie Veselka Reck in El Campo, Texas. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Hillje Texas, Catholic Daughters of America Court 1374, El Campo Ladies Auxiliary Court and Louise Hillje Prayer Group and Hillje Altair Society.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Hoelscher, Laurie Cerny (Paul), and Amie Collins (Steve Chanek); son, Paul Blumrick; son-in-law Mike Mach; grandchildren, Kim Mach, Brian Mach (Amanda), Michelle Brice (Zach), Christine Resendez (Mark), Shelly Schulz, Melissa Hoelscher (Julian Torres), Micha Francis (Derek), Lisa Reyes, Andrica Wright (Percy), Jessica Wright, Melinda Page (Allen), Kurt Cerny (Coral), Matthew Blumrick (Lauren), Hannah Arbuckle (Robert), Haylee Blumrick, Cheyenne Dominguez (Mark), Tyler Collins (Carsyn Allen), and Riley Meyen; 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard Blumrick; daughter, Cynthia Mach; granddaughter, Mandy Cerny; grandson, Jeff Schulz and siblings, Bill Reck (Evelyn), Frank Reck (Elsie), and Edwin Reck (Lillian).
Gladys lived a life full of laughter, love, and a dash of mischief. She had a big heart and a great love for her kids and grandchildren.
She enjoyed looking for those hidden treasures - whether it was a shirt for her son or another figurine at a garage sale, a lucky scratch-off ticket, or a slot machine that finally might hit. The thrill of a good deal or a winning number always brought a sparkle to her eye. Her favorite adventures were often the simplest: wandering through thrift stores, grabbing a cold beer and scratch offs and calling up her closest friends to chat about everything and nothing.
She was a loving and proud grandmother, and a loyal friend. She was the one you could count on for a good laugh, honest advice, or a listening ear.
Her strength, humor, and stubborn spirit will be missed every single day, but the memories she leaves behind will continue to bring comfort and joy to all who loved her.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Hillje with a Rosary recited at 10 a.m. The funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Wayne Flagg officiating. Burial will follow at St. Andrew's Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Matthew Blumrick, Kurt Cerny, Brian Mach, Tyler Collins, Brian Kutach, Philip Torres, Shawn Torres, and Dylan Davidson. Honorary Pallbearers are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Andrew's Catholic Church Food Basket and nolimitationswaco.org.
