It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gladys Juanita LaFoy, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who peacefully left this world on October 16, 2025, at the age of 96.
Born on February 5, 1929, in Greenville, South Carolina to the late Lawrence and Edna Brown LaFoy, Gladys was a lifelong resident of the upstate and exemplified the spirit of her hometown.
Gladys graduated from Parker High School and dedicated her professional life to public service, working as a Jury Clerk for Greenville County, where her commitment to her community shone brightly. She was a cherished member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church, where her faith guided her and her warm smile brought joy to those around her.
Gladys was proud of her family, leaving behind her grandson, Eric Glenn (Shannon Glenn); and two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Katie, who were the light of her life. She also leaves behind a nephew, Randy LaFoy whom she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Clarence Gary Glenn; and brother, Charles LaFoy.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gladys's remarkable life. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown followed by the funeral service at 12:00 noon in the chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery West.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Brushy Creek Baptist Church.
Gladys Juanita LaFoy will be deeply missed but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her spirit continue to inspire acts of kindness and love in our lives.
