Glen Delbert Amix
November 28, 1945 – October 31, 2025
Glen Delbert Amix, age 79 of Newport, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, at Corewell Health - Trenton. Born on November 28, 1945, in Tazewell, Tennessee, Glen was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He married the love of his life, Donna Mullins, on June 14, 1969, at Fairview Baptist Church in Tazewell, Tennessee. In 1971, Glen moved to Monroe, Michigan, with his family, embarking on a long career at the Ford Motor Company as a dedicated Metal Finisher. He worked tirelessly for 30 years, retiring in 2001.
A proud veteran, Glen honorably served his country in the United States Army. His sense of humor and vibrant personality made him the life of every gathering, and he was a master storyteller, regaling friends and family with tales that would bring laughter and joy to all around him. Glen had a deep love for the outdoors, finding peace in hunting and fishing, passions he lovingly shared with his grandchildren. He was especially proud to teach them how to drive and igniting their love for fishing, which became treasured family traditions.
Glen's love and wisdom will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of fifty-six years, Donna of Newport; his two devoted daughters, Crystal (Kevin) England of Newport and Jessica Goldsmith of Monroe; and his sister, Louise (James) Eads of Oklahoma. He leaves behind three adored grandchildren, Tyler, Sydni, and Maci, who were the light of his life.
Preceded in death by his parents, Orban and Elsie (Campbell) Amix, and his brother, Orban Amix Jr., Glen now joins them in eternal rest.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 2 p.m. until services celebrating his life begins at 6 p.m. at Rupp Funeral Home, 2345 S. Custer Road, Monroe, MI 48161. Family friend, Bill Lewis, will officiate the service, with military honors provided by the Monroe VFW Post 1138. In accordance with Glen's wishes, cremation will follow.
Memorial contributions in Glen's memory are suggested to the National Rifle Association, reflecting his lifelong passion for the outdoors.
Glen Delbert Amix will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and the indelible mark he left on everyone who knew him.
