Glen Hackworth, a lifelong Santa Paula California resident, passed away February 19, 2025 at 88 years old. He leaves behind a loving family, who misses him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sisters.
Glen was raised and educated in Santa Paula. Graduating in 1955 from Santa Paula High School. He served honorably in the US Army. Upon his return from military service, he continued his education and enjoyed a career in agriculture. For over four decades Glen worked for the Ventura County Agricultural Commissioner's Office. Retiring as a Supervising Agricultural Biologist.
Glen was also the head cross country coach and assistant track and field coach at St. Bonaventure High School. He was a Boy Scout leader; and an Agriscience Academy mentor. Glen was an experienced sailor with membership to the Power Squadron. Glen loved the outdoors. He was an avid backpacker, gardener, and bird watcher. After retirement, coffee with the other retirees and outings with his wife were among his activities.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Community Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Blanchard Community Library Endowment Fund 119 N. 8th St. Santa Paula, Ca 93060.
The family will host visiting hours, March 14, 2025 4 pm to 8 pm at Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home & Cremation Service. 757 East Main St., Ventura, CA. The Funeral Service will be held March 15, 2025 at 10:30 am at the Boyko & Reardon Telegraph Road Mortuary & Cremation, 15 Teloma Drive, Ventura, Ca. The Burial Service with Military Honors will follow at 12pm at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery, 380 Cemetery Rd. Santa Paula, CA.
