Mr. Glenn Beal

BEAL, Mr. Glenn - Age 67, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022, at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, December 10, 2022, At Living Word Ministry, 2001 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Elder J.D. Hayter, officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mr. Beal will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM on Friday. Mr. Glenn "Mad-Dog" Beal was a devoted Husband, Son, Brother, Cousin Grandson, Step-Father, Step-Grandfather, Uncle and Friend. Glenn Beal was born on March 19, 1955 in Jackson, Mississippi, the son of L.H. Watkins and Gloria Plumpp. He was an entrepreneur at an early age. Glenn owned and operated Beal and Son Market. He was also baptized at an early age. Glenn loved the Lord. He attended North Street Church of God, Detroit St. Church of God, Pasadena Church of God and Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church. While growing up, Glenn graduated from Northwestern High School. After high school he attended Ferris State University where he was a Charter Member of Phi Beta Sigma. The Zeta Theta Chapter was brought to Ferris State University April 6, 1974 where Glenn was one of 8 founding members. Because of their perseverance Black Unity was born. He also attended the Flint Bible Institute where he receive his Certificate of Completion. Glenn worked a Chevrolet V-8 Engine Plant, a division of General Motors Corporation, while working there he met his wife, Clara. It was love at first sight. Nothing but death was going to break them apart. They put God first, they didn't let anyone or anything break them! Glenn later worked at GM Powertrain in Romulus, MI where he retired. Glenn and Clara were a team! They had the Beal's Lawncare Service, they could add on rooms to a house with their bare hands. It wasn't anything they couldn't do together. They loved to go fishing, work on houses, traveling and not by plane. Glenn and Clara would fill up their gas tank and drive hours and hours from whichever state they desired to go to. Their love for each other was so beautiful. He also loved carpentry work, sports cars, family gatherings, visiting his mom and spending time with his dog, Jack. Glenn was loving, kind hearted and his smile sprinkled sunshine on all he encountered. Mr. Glenn Beal went with the Lord on November 28, 2022. Mr. Glenn "Mad-Dog" Beal is survived by: wife, Mrs. Clara Beal; mother, Mrs. Gloria Plumpp; 4 sisters, Ester Plumpp of Flint, Katherine Lankoande of Durham, NC, Vera (Willis) Watkins Finley of Jackson, MS, and Juaice Lamar; 4 brothers, Turner (Gladys) Beal, Herbert Beal, all of Flint, James (Lasonya) Cistrunk of Atlanta, GA and Christopher D. (Shawanna) Watkins of Byram, MS; 3 aunts, Jessie Beal, Katherine Brooks, both of Flint and Helen Beal of Princeton, TX; uncle, Joseph Beal of Canton, MI; brother-in-law, Henri Lankoande of Southfield, MI; sister-in-law, Jessie Mae Cummings; 2 step-daughters, Stephane (Joel) Bailey of San Tan Valley, AZ and Lashell Star of Flint; 4 step-granddaughters, Alisha (Christopher) Taylor, Janae Taylor, Tia Bailey, all of San Tan Valley, AZ and Nyzhiaunna (NY) Stovall of Flint; his dog, Jack; 2 special step-nieces whom he talked to often, Bernadette Davis and Earline McKennerly; a host of other special relatives and friends, Edgar Barnes, Timothy Pea, Erwin Heard, Maurice Guy, Thomas Poole, Marlon Jefferies and Steve Waller; 2 nephews, Westley Lankoande and Christian Jessie; nieces, Sophia Taylor, Simone Mayo, Satyra Sumner, LaToya White, Shontay Johnson; neighbors, Noah and Peggy; his road dog step-daughter, Shell Star. Mr. Beal was preceded in death by his father, L.H. Watkins; grandmother, Leola W. Beal; step-father, Cyrus Plumpp Jr.; step-son, Donald A. Russell Jr.; brother, Hosey Cistrunk; grandfather, John Beal; step-mother, Mrs. Hattie Lee "Madea" Davis; step-sisters, Nancy Green, Beatrice Bailey, Barbara Jean Reed and Hattie Mae Sibley.
