Glenn E. Day, 86, of Hancock, NY, died suddenly on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY. He was born on August 5, 1937 in Rileyville, PA, the son of Oscar and Alice (Cottell) Day.
Glenn married Vera Lacey on September 13, 1958 in Callicoon, NY. He worked at Hancock Central School as a custodian and retired after 32 years. He enjoyed fishing and camping and loved antique cars. In his recent years, Glenn enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee.
Surviving are his wife, Vera; 4 children: Timothy Day, Beverly (Bill) McGraw, Sandra (George) Barnes, and Cynthia (Shaun) Shannon; 8 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 5 siblings: Florence Wood, Gus (Liz) Day, Judy Warren, Gladys (Bill) Simons, Howard Day, and Jackie (Bill) Rutledge; and many nieces and nephews. Glenn was predeceased by a brother, Fred Day, and a sister, Beverly Beddoe.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 11AM-1PM followed by a funeral at 1PM all at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Hancock.
Donations may be made in Glenn's memory to the Town of Hancock Ambulance, P.O. Box 733 Hancock, NY, 13783.
