Glenn Delbert Lewis passed away at home on Sunday, April 28, 2024 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on July 12, 1955 to John Delbert Lewis and Tawana Ruth Richardson Lewis. His family moved to Moore where his father built their home in July of 1960.
He attended Moore Public Schools until he graduated from Moore High School as Senior Class President in 1973. Glenn attended the University of Oklahoma and transferred to the University of Central Oklahoma, where he graduated with a degree in Municipal Management.
Glenn developed an interest in rock hunting and became a jeweler apprentice at the age of sixteen. He and his younger brother, Tim, opened Lewis Jewelers in 1976. Glenn's focus was on the manufacturing of wholesale and retail jewelry, serving multiple generations of customers for 45 years.
Eighteen years into his jewelry career, Glenn became the Mayor of his hometown and held that office for thirty years. He was called Mr. Mayor for his love and commitment to the City of Moore. He was the longest serving mayor in the state, and quoting U.S. Representative Tom Cole, "the most consequential in the history of Moore, without question."
Glenn was preceded in death by his wife of forty years, Pamela Coulter Lewis. He is survived by his daughter, Laura Lewis of Omaha, Nebraska, her partner Brendan Schulz, and their children, Riley and Daniel, his brother Timothy J. Lewis and his wife, Julie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts in Glenn's memory be made to the Pam and Glenn Lewis Scholarship Fund and mailed to Moore High School Alumni Association, PO Box 7916, Moore, Oklahoma 73153.
Visitation will be at Lynlee Mae Chapel, 507 East Main in Moore on Wednesday, May 1st from 1:00 to 8:00 and Thursday, May 2nd from 10:00 to 8:00.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 on Friday, May 3rd at the First Baptist Church of Moore, 301 NE 27th Street with interment following the service at Moore City Cemetery, 800 SW 4th Street.

Eating! Oh did Glenn love his food. Something we enjoyed together. I´m so glad I got to spend one on one time with him and taking care of him as one of his nurses he had by his side. Sorry Laura. But thank you for sharing your dad.

I served with Glenn on the City Council in 2001. From the very beginning He taught me alot about serving the community, not self. Glenn loved Moore and it was very evident in all he did . He was always there to talk with anyone that had questions or concerns. He gave %110 as Mayor. His Leadership during the tornado crisis will never be forgotten. God Bless Laura and Tim and their families during this difficult time. I´ll be praying for you .

Enjoyed working with Glen as one of my first clients. My wife still proudly wears some of the jewelry created by Lewis Jewelers. He was a good man! Pat and Gale Gerhardt
