Glenn Edgar McCarter

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Glenn Edgar McCarter, who passed away peacefully at home at the age of 81, following a brief diagnosis of lung cancer.

A graduate of Fulton High School, Class of 1962, he dedicated 37 years of faithful service as a firefighter with the City of Knoxville. His commitment to protecting and serving his community reflected the strength, courage, and integrity that defined his life.

He was a devoted husband, married for 54 wonderful years to our wonderful mother, who preceded him in death in 2020. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and unwavering love.

He is survived by his two daughters, Jeanna Scealf and Lisa Baldwin; five precious grandchildren; and one cherished great-grandchild. He was also one of eight siblings and is survived by one brother and one sister.

A long-time and faithful member of Buffat Heights Baptist Church, his faith was the foundation of his life. He loved his church family and remained devoted to his congregation throughout the years.

The family will receive friends at Buffat Heights Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00 PM, with Pastor Dave Thomas officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Buffat Heights Baptist Church in his honor.
