Glenn Eugene Siron, 91, of Fishersville, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025.
Glenn was born in McDowell on March 24, 1933, a son to the late James Rodney and Eva Susan Puffenbarger Siron.
Glenn worked on the family farm in Highland County until entering the United States Army in 1953, where he was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. He returned home to marry Ruth Belle Zimmerman in 1955 and they moved to Fishersville where he was employed by Baker Brothers, Acme Visible Records, and then finished his career at HFP Sysco. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary before her death in 2016.
Outside of work, Glenn immersed himself in various interests that brought him joy. He was devoted to nurturing his family, his garden, and his yard. He also enjoyed bowling and a good round of golf.
He served the Lord in various leadership positions at church, including serving as the chairman of the building committee for Olivet Presbyterian Church in 1968 and various other officer positions at Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church, where he was recognized as an elder emeritus. Additionally, Glenn served his community as a volunteer administrator for the Preston L. Yancey Volunteer Fire Department, served on the Shenandoah Planning District Committee, and as the Registrar for the Wilson Voting District.
He is survived by his two daughters, Karen Siron and Lorna LaFollette (Michael); his grandchildren, Kendall Smith (Jason), and Chad LaFollette; his sister, Violet Cox (Ron); and his sister-in-law, Frances Siron. Glenn is also survived by the other special people in his life including Richard Kiser, Debi Woolf, Lydia Garber, and Vanessa Dueck.
