Glenna Marlene Cook, born on July 3, 1937, in Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away peacefully from a sudden illness on August 1st, 2024. Glenna's life was a symphony of love, music, and dedication to others, marked by her profound impact as a piano teacher and her nurturing spirit.
Glenna graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Home Economics and a minor in Chemistry. Her passion for music led her to establish her own piano teaching method for children, Noteimals, through which she inspired countless students with her warmth, patience, and expertise. Her work led her to win the prestigious entrepreneur One Million Cups recognition. Glenna's home was filled not only with the sounds of piano melodies but also the vibrant cultures of the many foreign exchange students she hosted over the years. She was awarded numerous community service accolades in each community she lived over the years. Glenna's passions included ceramics, painting, teaching, scout leader, and Methodist church volunteer.
Glenna was married to Neil Ronné Cook, who preceded her in death on October 2, 2018. She is survived by her four devoted sons and their families: Paul Cook and his children, Ben, Daniel (and his spouse Jessica, and their children Levi, Gabriel, Lydia, and Margaret), Caleb, and Lorena; Evan Cook and his spouse Susan, and their daughter Claire; Ross Cook and his spouse Pam, and their children Hannah (and her spouse Brady Willis and their son Collier), Allison, Caroline, and Kayte; Ward Cook and his spouse Robynne, and their children Emily La Croix, Milo La Croix, Ryan Cook, Amanda Cook, Ethan Cook, and Evan Cook.
Known for her kindness and wisdom, Glenna always shared her blessing with the words, "God bless you." Her legacy lives on in the music she loved and in the hearts of those she touched.
A memorial service will be held at Vilonia United Methodist, September 14th, 2024 at 10am, celebrating the remarkable life she lived and the profound impact she had on her family and community.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations for Save the Music Foundation in Glenna Cook's name to continue her legacy of support.
