The world is dimmer without you." ~ Princess
Beautiful, classy and sassy, one of a kind, a true friend, 1000-watt smile, contagious laugh, witty, helpful, bubbly personality, loving daughter, her sister's keeper, mother of the year, all words that describe the magnificent Gloria Ann Grant-Graham.
Gloria was born on May 4, 1973, in Newark "Brick City", New Jersey to Maebell Grant and the late Willie P. Graham. She was the second youngest of her siblings.
Gloria moved to the Coolspring Community of Aynor, South Carolina in 1988. After graduating from Aynor High School, Gloria was employed at several local businesses including K-Mart, Winn-Dixie as well as Horry County Schools as a substitute teacher. Gloria attended Horry-Georgetown Technical College and soon after started her administrative career through employment with Health Care Partners and Builders First Choice. In 1993, Gloria began her 20-year career at Horry County Government, where she found her work family in the Clerk of Court Office. Most often Gloria was the person who greeted you with a sunny smile, welcoming personality and a willing desire to help. The number of people she helped, lives she touched, and friends she made while there is countless!
Beyond her career, Gloria had a multitude of skills and hobbies. She was a chef, barbeque grill master, hair stylist, carpenter, fisher, motorcyclist, dee-jay and photographer. Once she put her mind to something, she would master it! She never shied away from any task. Gloria was every woman!
Gloria never, ever met a stranger and had a heart full of compassion for helping others. Gloria loved the Lord and her love of Him was exhibited through her acts of thoughtfulness, kindness and concern for others. To know her is to love her. If you ever needed her, she was always a phone call away, ready to do everything and anything you needed. Many times when you called, you may have been greeted with the longest voicemail ever, "Hi Caller", but rest assured, she would definitely get back to you. Not only did she never meet a stranger, once she met you, you were her lifelong friend.
Gloria loved with her whole heart, especially her family. Her Mommy, was her heartbeat. Her sisters, the Grant Girls, one for all and all for one. But without a doubt, Gloria's greatest loves were her children and grandchildren. There was absolutely nothing she wouldn't do for Shantia, Joshua, KaJuan, Princess, Ashely, or Kodak. And "Nona" was head over heels in love with her grandbabies, the apples of her eyes, Kaiden and Kenzie.
On Monday, March 27, 2023, her earthly voyage ended. Her passing leaves an emptiness in the lives of everyone who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memories her Mommy, Maebell Grant of Aynor; her children, Shantia (Ashley) Ladson of Killeen, Texas; Joshua Grant, KaJuan Graham and Princess Graham, all of Aynor. Her precious grandchildren, Kaiden and Kenzie Grant and Kylie Turner; her sisters Mae Ann Graham (preceded her in death), Linda Grant, Esther (Kendall) Murphy, Carolyn McLeod, all of Aynor and Lisa Grant of Paterson, NJ; her brothers, Willis Graham and Steve Graham, her favorite uncle Charles Graham, her "Brosins" Willie (Calreatha) Graham, Hampton (Barbara) Graham, Jr., David Graham, Curtis Graham and Tony Gerald; her second set of children, her nieces and nephews; Dr. Chantrey Murphy, Crystal Grant, Shanice Murphy, Jamire Grant, Christopher Grant, Tyshai Grant and Michael Grant; her fur baby Kodak, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a world of friends.
Viewing will be held Friday March 31, 2023 2-6Pm at Latimer's Funeral Home.
The Funeral will be held Saturday April 1, 2023 11Am at Chesterfield MBC Hwy 90 Longs, SC.
