Mr. Roger D. Hucks, age 80, passed away at his residence on August 18, 2025. Mr. Roger was born January 18, 1945, a son of the late Hubert Lee and Lessie Roger Hucks. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Barbara Hucks and several brothers, sisters and extended family. Mr. Roger was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church. He attended Aynor High School where he played football and drove a school bus. After graduating, Mr. Roger served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Following his service in the Army he settled down in the Dog Bluff section of Horry County where he lived and raised his family. He was employed as a meat cutter for IGA for many years where he always greeted his customers with a smile and a story. Mr. Roger is survived by two sons: Christopher Hucks (Heather) and Jack Hucks; two daughters: Wendy Lee Hucks (Mark Klimaszewski) and Nikki Hamilton (Kyle); nine grandchildren: Austin Hamilton, BreAnna Emminger (Isaac), Matthew Hamilton, Alyssa Hamilton, Carlee Hamilton. CeeJaye "Gator" Hamilton, Seven Hamilton, Reagan Hucks and Chad Hucks; one great grandchild: Carsen Emminger; and two sisters: Nyoka Hucks (Jackie) and Ruby Moore (Silvis). Graveside services with military honors will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Rehobeth Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. B.J. Hucks and Mark Klimaszewski officiating. The family will visit with friends at the cemetery following the service. Memorials can be made to Rehobeth Baptist Church, PO Box 190 Aynor, SC 29511.
