Gloria M. Walczak, 82, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Countryside Manor.
Gloria was born November 18, 1941 in Sheboygan, WI to Alexander and Fern (Mac Weick) Schmidt. She graduated from Sheboygan Central High School, Class of 1959.
On February 6, 1959, Gloria was united in marriage to William Walczak, having celebrated their fifty-first wedding anniversary before his passing on March 16, 2010.
Gloria and William were the owners/operators of William’s Excavating, Inc and William’s Mini-Storage. Though successful business owners, Gloria’s pride and joy was her family. Spending time with her family meant the world to her. She enjoyed making them her home cooked meals, especially her German potato salad.
Her hobbies included bee keeping, making stained glass, maple syrup, homemade soap and wine making with her daughter, Debbie. Another past time of Gloria’s was getting together with her yarn spinning group. She and William raised Clydesdale horses and other exotic animals on their farm. She loved playing (winning) sheepshead with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, David (Dawn)Walczak and Steven (Clarice) Walczak; grandchildren, Barry Walczak, Kim (Scott) Berndt, Jason (Maggie) Walczak, Christina (Joel) Williams, Nadine Bock and Spencer Walczak; great grand-children, Jameson Walczak, Reagan Walczak, Andrew Pingel, Trigger Walczak, Sawyer Walczak, Sailor Walczak, Jack Walczak and Keggan Williams; and other relatives and friends.
Gloria is preceded in death by her loving husband William Walczak; her daughters Debra (Walczak) Spangler; her parents Alexander and Fern Schmidt; her daughter-in-law Andrea Zawadzka; sister Jackie Zastrow and brother Jerome Schmidt.
A memorial service will be held for Gloria on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 12:00p.m. at Zimmer Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Rd, Sheboygan, WI 53083. The service will be livestreamed from Gloria's obituary page on www.zimmerfuneralhome.com. The family will greet relatives and guests from 9:00a.m. until the time of the service.
Gloria’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Crystal Lindle and Gail Martnear.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gloria’s memory can be made to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
