It is with great sadness that the family of Gregory Lopez Jr announces his passing. He left this world unexpectedly on October 27th, 2024, in Joplin, Missouri due to an automobile accident. This vibrant soul was born on November 24, 2004, in New Braunfels, Texas, to Gregory Lopez Sr. and Angela Ketcherside.
Gregory is proudly celebrated by Chanute High School, class of 2023. He was an outstanding employee bringing his unique personality and a fun-loving spirit to work every day at B&W Trailer Hitches. Gregory was passionate about soccer and enjoyed living life to its fullest, embodying a truly eccentric and goofy style that set him apart.
He is survived by his parents, Angela Ketcherside and Edgar Arauz as well as his father Gregory Lopez Sr. He leaves behind his beloved siblings: Anastasia Campos, Ethan Arauz, Arianna Arauz, Kenzli Arauz, and Theresa Bowers all residing in Chanute, Kansas. His family circle is completed by his grandparents, Tina Ketcherside, John, and Ana Smith.
He was preceded in death by Gary Ketcherside, Juanita, and Alberto Lopez Sr. Gregory's playful companionship extended to his cherished puppies, Rowan and Mordo, who filled his life with joy. Gregory Lopez Jr. will be remembered for his contagious laugh, giving spirit, and witty sense of humor. His legacy will live on for generations to come, inspiring those around him with his unforgettable spirit. He will be mourned deeply by the whole town for the profound impact he made in his short time on this earth.
A visitation will be held in his honor on November 1, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wickham Family Funeral Home in Chanute, Kansas 500 North Forest Ave. Chanute, Kansas.
This will be followed by a Celebration of Life Funeral Service on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM, also at Wickham Family Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church and can be left with or mailed to the funeral home. His spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
