Obituary of Gregory Scott Weinand
We remember and honor Gregory Scott Weinand of Union, Maine, who departed from us peacefully on April 12, 2025. Greg was born on February 2, 1973 in Boston, Massachusetts to Frank and Frances Weinand, graduated from Londonderry High School in 1991 and attended St. Anselm College.
Greg was an avid Boston sports fan, but was especially fond of the Bruins and Red Sox and rarely missed a game. He also enjoyed Irish literature and, in particular, James Joyce and Seamus Heaney. He was a regular Jeopardy watcher, and would have likely been a strong contender on the show if ever given the opportunity. One of his greatest joys were his dogs, all through the years.
Greg is survived by his wife of 16 years, Kris; his son, Kyle; his mother, Fran; his brother and sister-in-law, David and Valerie; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Michael, and his grandparents, Francis "Bud" and Mary.
A private graveside service will be held for the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America, Pope Memorial Humane Society or any charity of your choosing.
