Greta Fee, 92, entered into eternal rest on August 31, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of the late Catherine (Berry) and Frederick Broas.
Greta was born and raised in Danbury, Connecticut, where she graduated from Danbury High School in the Class of 1951. She went on to study at St. Vincent's School of Nursing and later earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Sacred Heart University.
Greta dedicated her life to serving others through her work as a registered nurse. She began her career at St. Vincent's Hospital and later continued her ministry of care with the Sisters of the Holy Family. Known for her kindness and compassion, she was a source of comfort to countless patients and their families over the years.
Her faith was central to her life, and she was a devout Catholic who lived out her values daily through kindness and generosity. In her later years, Greta found joy in simple pleasures-reading, cooking, watching her favorite television game shows, and the occasional shopping trip. She also had a lifelong love for animals, especially cats, and welcomed them with the same warmth she extended to everyone around her.
Those who knew Greta will remember her for her generous spirit and the way she always managed to bring a smile to those around her. As Greta grew older, she especially treasured conversations with her grandchildren during Sunday dinners. She often reminded her family that the material things we collect are never as important as the love we share with one another. Her legacy is one of faith, family, and generosity of heart.
Greta was predeceased by her parents, Catherine and Frederick Broas; her brother, Frederick Broas Jr.; and her nephew, William Broas.
She is survived by her children, Mary Fee, Andrew Fee Jr., and David Fee; her brothers, Kenneth Broas and Patrick Broas; her grandchildren, David Calandro (Becky), Michael Calandro (Victoria), Elissa Calandro (Evan), Catherine Calandro (Aaron), and Joseph Calandro; her great-grandchildren: Emilia, Aubrie, Jonah, Luca, and Lily; along with several nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Greta's honor. Carpino Funeral Home is honored to have been entrusted with Greta's final care and arrangements. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Greta, please visit our Tree Store.
