Greta Jessica Hodges was born on September 5, 1937, in Arkansas and passed to her eternal home on September 8, 2024. She lived nearly all her life in California and more than 83 years in Rialto. 

Greta graduated from San Bernardino High School and worked as a medical office manager and nurse for 39 years in Rialto and San Bernardino. She was a pianist for the Lions, Rotary, and Kiwanis clubs. Also, she played piano and organ for weddings and church services in Rialto. 

Greta was an advocate for justice and animal protection, and a life-long volunteer and leader of numerous Rialto organizations. She served on the Rialto Airport Commission and led as chairwoman for many years. She was a member of several civic groups, including the Rialto Historical Society, the Women's Club, the Black History Committee, Rialto Downtown Business Association, and Chamber of Commerce. She spent 30 years supporting and leading the Friends of the Rialto Police K-9's. She was awarded the ABC Channel 7 Jefferson Honoree Award Medal for her service with the Rialto Police K-9s. 

Greta was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Alta Hodges and her sister, Barbara L. Tudor. She is survived by two nieces, Yvonne Tudor and Marilyn Tudor Bleak (Mark Bleak). Memorial service will be held October 3, 2024, at Ingold Funeral and Crematory in Fontana with interment to follow at Rialto Park Cemetery.
