Gwendolyn “Faye” Sines passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Emory Hospital in Warner Robins. She was 81 years old.

Born in Abbeville, Georgia, Faye was the daughter of the late Theodore and Lizzie Mae Whitman Mullis. After high school, Faye served as a longtime employee at the Waffle House on Watson Boulevard. There, she became a local staple, known not only for her hard work but also for her spitfire personality and unfiltered honesty that drew people to her. Customers became friends, and regulars returned not just for a meal, but also for a conversation with Faye.

Outside of work, her greatest joy came from her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. Faye will be remembered for her vibrant presence, her ability to connect with others, and the love she gave freely to those around her.

In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth Sines; and siblings, Charles, Calvin, Dickie, Gerald, Reba, Linda, and Ed.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Denise Poole and Dean Sines; grandchildren, Xander, Zachary, and Natalia Poole; siblings, Billy Mullis (Janice), and Frances Danzer (Bryan); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other beloved extended family members and friends.

A memorial gathering with family and friends will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service celebrating Faye’s life will immediately follow in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. The family encourages anyone attending Faye’s service to dress causal and come as you are.

Gwendolyn “Faye” Sines will be laid to rest privately.
