Harold Grassmyer was born on June 18, 1932 to Richard and Verna (Williams) Grassmyer in Logansport, IN. Harold passed away on July 26, 2025 at the age of 93.

Harold was a hunter, fisherman, Air Force veteran, family man, friend, dad, brother, uncle, grandpa, great grandpa, great-great grandpa, helper, teacher and friend to many.

He died peacefully with family by his side. He was known for his ability to tell captivating stories about his life and the military. Harold served in the Korean War from 1952 to 1956. He was known for his resilience and strength. To ask him, there wasn't anything that couldn't be done. He was also very proud of his career as a carpenter for over 40 years.

He had two wives, sharing a loving marriage of 33 years with JoAnn (1937 – 1990), and a cherished bond of 29 years with Judy (1940 – 2023). He was a devoted father to three children, Robert (1959 – 2000), Peggy (Tony), and Thomas (Adrienne). Harold leaves behind two grandchildren, Bobbie (Tyler) and Michael (1981-2023), two great-grandchildren, Chambers and Danielle, one great-great-grandchild, Azalea, and two cats, Bella & Cocoa.

Harold's life demonstrated the power to live and the enduring strength of family. His stories will continue to resonate with those who knew him. When asked what he would do if he could do his life over, his answer was always the same, "I would do everything the same".

Harold was a good man, friend and father. He will be deeply missed.
