Harold Hand Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McCalla Memorial Funeral Home on Mar. 18, 2025.
Harold Hand, 91, of McCalla, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2025.
Harold is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife of nearly 65 years, Bettye Sue Hand. He is survived by his sons, Rick (Dava) Hand, Joey (Margie) Hand, and Ken (Angie) Hand; one brother, Gary (Noralene) Hand; his 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
A proud graduate of the University of Alabama, Harold held an appreciation for knowledge and faith. Before pursuing his calling in ministry, he served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War era. His time in the military shaped his discipline, resilience, and steadfast devotion to service.
A husband, father, and grandfather, he was a steadfast example of wisdom and unwavering faith. When asked how he was doing, Harold usually answered "Just right" with a big grin. These words reflected Harold's trust in God, and his faith that all things were in His hands. Harold lived a life dedicated to faith, family, and service. He spent his life ministering to others, both as a pastor and through his quiet acts of generosity. Alongside Bettye Sue, he helped support the building of churches, missions, and ministries across the world.
Even after retiring from pastoral duties, Harold remained deeply involved in his church and community, always ready with a prayer, a story, or a helping hand. His legacy of faith continues in his family, with children and grandchildren actively serving in ministry-a testament to the life he lived.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join in celebrating Harold's life on Friday, March 21, 2025, at McCalla Memorial Funeral Home, with visitation from 1:00 to 2:00pm and a memorial service immediately following. He will be laid to rest at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
In honor of Harold's heart for ministry, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Church of God World Missions at 2490 Keith Street NW, Cleveland, TN 37311.
