Harold "Jake" Francis Hellinger
December 28, 1942 – March 11, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Harold "Jake" Francis Hellinger, who left us unexpectedly on March 11, 2025, at the age of 82.
Harold was born on December 28, 1942, in Richland, NY, to Alvin and Hazel (Snyder) Hellinger. He grew up in Mexico, NY, and graduated from Mexico High School before earning his bachelor's degree in biology from St. Bonaventure University. Though he studied science, his career path led him to sales, where he excelled. He worked as a salesman and later became the national sales manager for Den-Tal-Ez, where he made a lasting impact on the industry. After retiring, Harold embraced his entrepreneurial spirit, starting and running several businesses.
His charismatic personality and kindness touched everyone who knew him, leaving a lasting impact on our family, friends, and community. We will deeply miss his warm smile, infectious laughter, and comforting presence.
Harold is survived by his children, Kelly Dion, Julie Hellinger, Susan Lord and her partner Matthew Lock, and Kristin Hellinger-Larochelle and Robert Larochelle Jr. He also leaves behind his beloved granddaughter, Abby Lord; great-granddaughter, Aubri Dion; and two sisters, Janet Larison and Doris (Fred) Pierce. He is also lovingly remembered by Valerie Hellinger, mother of his children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Hazel Hellinger; his brother, Raymond Hellinger; his sister, Martha Hellinger; and his grandson, Matthew Dion.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 10, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Nashua, New Hampshire. All who knew and love Harold are welcome to attend and share memories. A graveside service with a luncheon to follow will take place in Pulaski, New York, on May 24, 2025.
