Harold was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, February 3, 1931, and passed away in West Monroe on June 20, 2024.

He is survived by his wife, Marjory LaGrone, his sons, John and his wife, Jennifer, Daniel and his wife, Donna, and Mark and his wife, Nevillyn; grandchildren, Arden LaGrone, Claire LaGrone, Alexia LaGrone, Allison Brown; great grandchildren, Jake Brown and Lucas Brown.

He grew up in Shreveport, LA, attended Wynn United Methodist Church and graduated from Fair Park High School. He went on to graduate from Centenary College of Louisiana in 1953 before serving in the US Army from October 1953 to September 1955, where he was stationed in France after the Korean War.

He married the true love of his life, Marjory LaGrone, in 1959 and they celebrated their love daily for over 64 years. They were able to enjoy a retirement together with leisure travel to Australia, Scandinavia, New Zealand, Russia and other destinations, as well as mission work in Alaska and Bolivia.

He became a CPA and later a Certified Financial Planner and was one of the pioneer leaders at Century Telephone Enterprise, where he retired as a Vice President in 1991.

Harold was committed to his family and sharing the joy of Christ. He was an active supporter of McGuire Methodist Church since 1970, where he and Marjory faithfully attended services and he led a weekly bible study. Within the community, he was active in Meals on Wheels and in the Christian Community Center. He was an ardent fund raiser for worldwide mission work and participated in mission activity in Latin American and Asia. He has been an active member of the Gideons.

Even at the age of 93, Harold maintained his keen intellect, enjoying daily Bible study, political discussions, LSU sports, Wordle, Scrabble, and Sudoku.

Harold's legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire generations to come.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Gideons or the Christian Community Center.
