Harold "Buddy" Lewis Weaver, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on May 11, 2025, at the age of 88 in Bloomington, Indiana. Born on May 30, 1936, in Hendricksville, Indiana, to the late Raymond and Ruby (Abram) Weaver, Buddy grew up with a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life, a value he carried with him until his final days.
Buddy's life was one marked by dedication and love. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Margaret Weaver, for 29 years, and a loving father to his children, Mark Weaver (Vicki), Diane Rainey (Randy), Shirley Weaver and stepchildren Dana Hoff (Terry), Gayle Morris (Ronnie), and Chuck Moffatt. He was also a guiding light to his stepson, the late Samuel Moffatt. Buddy's legacy continues through his numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Allison Jordan, Chad Weaver (Shelby), Emily Hamm (Ryan), Dustin Rainey (Tori), Kayley Brammer Wolf (Tyler), Taylor Rainey, and his adored great-grandchildren, Maddie Jordan, Beth Jordan, Bryson Hamm, Lucas Hamm, Olivia Hamm, Oaklynn Weaver, Carter Weaver, and Theo Rainey. Buddy's ninth great-grandchild is expected to arrive on his birthday, May 30th, to proud parents Dustin and Tori. Harold was also a beloved uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
After graduating from Solsberry High School, Buddy embarked on a career that began at Johnson's Creamery and culminated in his retirement from Westinghouse, now ABB. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident to all who knew him.
Buddy's passions were as genuine as his smile. He was a true lover of real country music, a Ford enthusiast, and a member of the Cruisin' Classics Car Club. His enjoyment for auto swap meets and camping were only matched by his love for attending family get-togethers and watching basketball. His faith was important to him, and he was a proud member of Liberty Church of Christ, where he accepted Jesus as His Lord and Savior and was baptized on August 18, 2019.
He is survived by his sister, Janice Ooley (Lloyd), and brother, Terry Weaver (Brenda). Buddy was predeceased by his parents, and his stepson, Samuel Moffatt.
His warm presence and the wisdom he shared will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. As we bid farewell to Harold "Buddy" Lewis Weaver, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of moments that will forever be treasured in the hearts of his loved ones.
Harold's family would like to thank the IU Health Bloomington Hospice House for the care they provided. If you would to make a donation in Harold's memory, there will be envelopes available at the services.
