Harriet Marie Sproull, a beacon of love and selflessness, left this world on April 8th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. Born on July 10th, 1937, in the quaint town of Culver, Indiana, Harriet's journey through life was one marked by a profound commitment to her family, a passion for life's simple pleasures, and an unwavering spirit of benevolence.
Harriet's radiant energy illuminated the lives of everyone around her, from the playful laughter of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, to the warm embrace of her friends. She was a woman who knew the value of presence of truly being there with her loved ones, whether that meant spending nights by the fire, splashing in the pool with the kids, or pushing a swing as she watched joy unfold on the playground. Her love was a sanctuary, a place of comfort and happiness for her family and friends. Harriet was a true matriarch and legend to all who knew her.
Her home in Cedar Park, her ranch in San Saba, and her lake house on Lake Travis were testaments to her dedication and hard work. Harriet took immense pride in her well-manicured yard, a lush canvas of green that she preferred to tend to with her own hands, mowing the grass and weeding the garden with meticulous care. It was a symbol of her philosophy-investing time and effort into the things she loved.
Harriet's love for tennis was more than a hobby; it was a way of connecting with others, of sharing moments of camaraderie with her fellow 'tennis girls'. Even as she got older, she enjoyed the same companionship in the water during weekly pool aerobics with the 'neighborhood girls'. Her travels, whether to reunite with family up north or to explore over seas, enriched her life with experiences and treasures that she lovingly displayed, each piece a story, each memory a cherished keepsake.
Her fashion sense was as impeccable as her yard, always dressed to impress with jewelry to match, whether attending church or visiting the ranch. Harriet's style was a reflection of her personality-graceful, elegant, and always with a touch of flair. She knew the power of a gentle breeze, often sitting outside in quiet contemplation, inviting those around her to pause and appreciate the simple beauty of the moment. Even if forced to do so amongst the chaos of an evening hunt or a deer hanging over her shoulder.
Harriet's legacy is carried on by her brother Carl and his wife Judy Wagoner, her beloved brothers in law Wayne Sproull and Lew Sproull (Linda), her loving sons Gary and his wife Denise, Jeff and his wife Elaine, her adoring grandchildren Ryan and his wife Jenna, Garrett and his wife Nichole, Adam, Lauren, Brandon, and Jordan Sproull, and her cherished great-grandchildren Macy, Hudson, Leighton, and Callahan Sproull. Her presence in their lives was a guiding light, a source of unconditional love and support.
She was predeceased by her husbands Ron Sproull, Mac McDaniel, and her son Doug Sproull, but the strength of her spirit and the warmth of her heart continued to inspire those she left behind. Harriet's generosity knew no bounds, extending for years to organizations she supported, a testament to her belief in giving back and making a difference.
In every action, Harriet embodied the essence of love, thoughtfulness, and selflessness. Her life was a masterpiece of moments well-lived and love freely given. She taught us that the measure of a life well-lived is not in the wealth we accumulate but in the richness of our relationships and the joy we bring to others.
Let us honor Harriet Marie Sproull by embracing life with the same fervor and grace that she did. Let her memory be a reminder to cherish our loved ones, to find beauty in the mundane, and to approach each day with a heart full of love and hands ready to serve. Harriet's story is not one of goodbye, but a beautiful invitation to live our lives with purpose, passion, and an abundance of love.
