Harry E Schneider

Harry E. Schneider, 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20, at his home in Elmhurst.

Born on March 21, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Harry and Mabel Schneider (née Hillman).

He was the beloved husband of the late Lorraine Schneider, with whom he shared 45 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 2023.

Harry was a loving father to Debbie (the late Michael) Stout, Michael (Kim) Romito, Marcia (Nick) Tero, and Suzie Schneider. Grandfather to Michael Romito, Dominick Romito, Lori Samson, Lisa Ackerly, Christian Carmona, and Kyle (Megi) Carmona, and a cherished great-grandfather to Emma, Weston, and Nicky. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy (Mike) Echols.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Richard, Jack, Donnie, and Jimmy.

Harry lived a full and active life. A mechanical engineer by profession. Outside of his career, he had a lifelong love of sports. He played tennis and golf and was especially proud of his time playing football at Lane Tech, Bradley University, and some semi-professional. Whether on the field or at home with his family, Harry approached life with determination, warmth, and strength.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were lucky enough to know him.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 9am- 11am followed by a service led by Fr. Yanos at Ahlgrim Funeral Home; located at 567 South Spring Road, Elmhurst, IL 60126.

Entombment will take place the next day Thursday, March 5, 2026 12pm at St. Michael the Archangel in Palatine, IL. Family will meet there.
