Cumberland, MD – Harry Allen Wilt, 77, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Monday, September 1, 2025, at UPMC Western Maryland.
Born May 31, 1948, in Westernport, MD, Harry was the son of the late Calvin A. Wilt, Sr. and Mary (Kearchner) Wilt. He was also preceded in death by his brother: Jim Wilt; and his dog: Daisy.
Harry graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1968. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, serving two tours between 1966 -1971. He served within the 71st Attack Helicopter Squadron. Harry then worked at several places, lastly working at the seafood section of Martin's Food. He was a member of the Fort Hill Rifle Club, the VVA Chapter #172 where he served in the Color Guard. Harry loved fishing, painting, tying flies, playing cards, and slot machines.
Harry is survived by his wife: Linda Wilt; his daughter: Kara Franke and significant other, Marc Robertson; his brother: Calvin "Sonny" Wilt, Jr. and wife, Mary; his stepsons: Kevin Walbert and wife, Krista; Scott Puffenbarger and wife, Kelli; John Puffenbarger and wife, Laura; and Joshua Puffenbarger; his step-grandchildren: Megan Scheide and husband, Justin; Bradley Walbert and wife, Sarah; Brooke Puffenbarger, Tyler Puffenbarger, Phoebe Puffenbarger and fiancé Alonso Miguel; Mason Puffenbarger, and Gavin Puffenbarger; as well as 4 step-great-grandchildren, 7 nephews, and 2 nieces.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor Denny Michael officiating.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the VVA Chapter #172 Color Guard.
