Hawthorne Wilson Fitzgerald Jr.

HIGH POINT - Hawthorne Wilson Fitzgerald, Jr., 87, died Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at his residence.

He was born April 15, 1938, in Charlottesville, Virginia, and was the son of the late Hawthorne Wilson Fitzgerald, Sr. and Mildred Louise Fitzgerald. He grew up and spent his early childhood in Waynesboro, Virginia, and received his associate's degree in electronical engineering from Lenior Community College in Kinston. Hawthorne worked as a Quality Engineer with semiconductors and computers and was currently employed by Penn Compression Moulding in Clayton as a part of their IT department. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Clayton and demonstrated his faith through his love for helping others. He enjoyed music, playing the guitar and keyboard, thrived on trying new restaurants and cherished time with his grandchildren immensely.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Lindner Fitzgerald; and three brothers, Jerry Fitzgerald, Winfred Fitzgerald and Edward Fitzgerald.

Hawthorne is survived by his daughter, Suzanne F. Parker (Rusty) of High Point; his son, Robert Wilson Fitzgerald (Debra) of Apex; five grandchildren, Courtney Edwards (Steph) of Winston-Salem, Catherine Crayton (Mitchell) of Thomasville, Claire Parker of High Point, Tyler Fitzgerald of Alexandria, Virginia, and Wesley Fitzgerald of Charlotte; three great-grandchildren, Emma Crayton, Eli Crayton and Beck Edwards; sister, Patsy Ciaciuch (Dennis) of Perrysburg, Ohio, two brothers, Don Fitzgerald of Wilson and Dennis Fitzgerald (Shari) of Vanceboro; and several nieces and nephews.
