COLFAX - Richard "Dick" Wiseman Vaughan, 91, died Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the Hospice House at High Point.

He was born February 15, 1934, in Starksville, Mississippi, and was the son of the late Arthur Edgar and Minnie Lee Wiseman Vaughan. Dick was a graduate of The Citadel and served in the U.S. Army Engineer Corp.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Margaret Ann Triplett; his twin brother, Robert "Bob" Arthur Vaughan; and his dog, Zoro.

Dick is survived by his wife, Karen R Vaughan whom he married on January 1, 1958; three children, Kalen Johnson (Gary) of Raleigh, Richard Vaughan, Jr. (Elaine, of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and Ann Casey of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Cooper.

A memorial service celebrating Dick's life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 25, 2025, at River Landing at Sandy Ridge.

The family will speak with friends following the service.
