Helen Stokes Pollock, 41, passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Pinewood Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Phillip Boykin.
A native of Pitt County, Helen grew up in the Eastern Pines community. She attended Chicod School, D.H. Conley High School, and Pitt Community College. Though she had her share of adventures, Helen always felt the pull of home, returning to be close to her family after a brief time away.
Helen built a fulfilling career at Overton's, where she worked as a Customer Service Representative in the Online Call Center. She thrived in her role, taking pride in helping others. Following Overton's merger with Gander Mountain and Camping World, she advanced to a lead supervisor position, continuing to serve with dedication and compassion. Helen was also a member of Black Jack Free Will Baptist Church.
Above all, Helen cherished her family. She was a devoted daughter, sister, granddaughter, and aunt-always present, even if she preferred to stay behind the camera rather than in the picture. She found immense joy in time spent with her mother, her beloved dog, and especially her nieces, Emily and Abby.
Helen was preceded in death by her father, Robin Stokes, whom she loved deeply and missed every day. She is survived by her mother, Kimbel Adams Stokes of Greenville; her brother, Robbie Stokes and his wife, Kim; and her nieces, Emily and Abby Stokes, all of Haw River, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Eastern NC, 3520 Tupper Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.

Hellen was a beacon of light and warmth in our community here at Good Sam. I did not know her for long, but the brief moments I did, she was a delightful and very inviting person. The world seems a bit duller without her in it, but we persevere. Let's all carry her light with us from here.

With heavy hearts, we, the members of Overton's/Camping World's/Good Sam's employee Belonging Committee, remember and honor our dear colleague and friend, Helen Stokes Pollock. Helen was a light in our workplace-a kind and steady presence who inspired us with her compassion, dedication, and a deep sense of care for those around her.

Her commitment to her work team and her ability to make others feel seen and valued, reflected the very essence of what it means to belong. Whether through her quiet encouragement, or the kindness she extended to both people and animals alike, Helen´s impact was profound and lasting.

As we reflect on Helen's life, we find comfort in knowing that her legacy of warmth and generosity lives on in the lives she touched. Here at work, our commitment is to carry forward the spirit of belonging that she embodied-lifting one another up, creating a welcoming space, and holding close the connections that make us stronger together. Each time we do so, we honor Helen.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Helen´s family, loved ones, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

With love and remembrance,
The Belonging Committee
