Graham Kay Stokes, 67, passed away Friday, April 4, 2025 at ECU Health Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held Monday, April 7, 2025, at 10 AM in the mausoleum at Pinewood Memorial Park, officiated by his pastor, Rev. Phillip Boykin.
Graham, son of the late Robert Delano and Ruth Whitford Stokes, was a native and lifelong resident of the Eastern Pines community. He was a 1976 graduate of D.H. Conley High School. He farmed with his family for a number of years. Graham led a difficult life for many years and was blessed to overcome those difficulties. In this process he came to know many who have meant much to him through the AA ministry and the gatherings at the "hut."
He was a member of the Black Jack Original Free Will Baptist Church and had been active in the Olive McGowan Sunday School Class for a number of years.
In addition to his parents, Graham was preceded in death by a brother, Robin Stokes, a niece, Helen Stokes, and uncles, Wayne Stokes and Z. O. Whitford and wife, Mildred.
He is survived by his sisters, Cathy S. Wilkerson and husband, Robert, and Karen S. Hardee and husband, Leon R. Hardee, Jr.; sister-in-law, Kim Adams Stokes; and nieces and nephews, Robbie Stokes and wife, Kim, Matt Wilkerson and wife, Ashley, Hunter Hardee and wife, Holly, Taylor Hardee, and Tanner Hardee; a special aunt, Linda Stokes; and a number of great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Black Jack OFWB Church, 2972 Black Jack – Simpson Road, Greenville, NC 27858.
