CHELMSFORD - Helen M. (LeFaivre) Russo, 89, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Paul William Russo, Jr. with whom she shared 68 years of marriage.
She was born in Oswego, NY on July 23, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Fredrick H. and Helen (Brown) LeFaivre. She grew up in Wellesley, attending Middle School and High School in Wellesley. She graduated from Lasell University with a degree in Interior Design.
For many years after her children were older, she worked at Lexington Gardens in Lexington as Gardner/grower and up until their closing as a bookkeeper.
If you ever had the pleasure of meeting Helen, you knew just how genuinely kind and sweet she was. She treated everyone with such warmth, compassion, and grace. Helen loved to nurture - whether it was her family or her garden, she found joy in helping things grow.
We feel incredibly blessed to have grown up with such an adoring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was endlessly proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. But what she cherished most was the love she shared with her husband Paul. "Together since middle school," theirs was truly a beautiful love story -- one that continues to inspire us all.
We will miss her radiant positivity and gentle spirit. Helen truly lived a wonderful, beautiful life, and the family she created is her legacy.
In addition to her loving husband, Helen leaves her children Suzanne Pinder of Chelmsford, Paul III and his wife Susan of Andover, David Russo and his wife Colleen of Goffstown NH, and Kati Lupoli and her husband Salvatore of Chelmsford. In addition to her 4 children, she leaves behind 8 wonderful Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her brother Fredrick H. LeFaivre; Mother-in-law Eleanor G. Russo; Father-in-law Paul W. Russo Sr; and a sister-in-law Eleanor G. Nickerson.
