Helena Elizabeth Crowley

Helena White Crowley, a long-time resident of Dobbs Ferry, died Sunday November 16, 2025, at Cedar Crest Senior Living Community in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. She was 97.

Born Helena Elizabeth White in Paget, Bermuda on June 2, 1928, to Captain Edward P. White and Dorothy E. Pearson. After several moves, her family settled in Bridgehampton, New York. She was a graduate of the Katharine Gibbs School and the State University of New York at Purchase. She started her career as an Executive Secretary to Alfred Vanderbilt and worked in a similar capacity for many years at General Foods.

Mrs. Crowley married John P. Crowley on August 25, 1951 in Bridgehampton, New York at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church. Her husband died in 2001. She was a parishioner of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, Hastings, and a former member of the St. Andrew's Curling Club. Her brother, Edward Pearson White of Tampa, Florida, predeceased her. Mrs. Crowley is survived by two daughters, Dorothy of New York City and Treacy of Cleveland, OH; a son, Cornelius (Con) of Summerville, SC; six grandchildren and one great-grand child.

A funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am Friday, November 21 at Cedar Crest Chapel, Pompton Plains.
