Henrietta R. "Hank" Tenbarge, 82, of Evansville, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital. She was born January 3, 1942 in Tell City, Indiana to the late Henry and Marie (Goffinet) Jarboe.
Hank graduated from Tell City High School and from St. Mary's School of Nursing in 1963. She worked as an RN for St. Mary's Hospital for 15 years and remained an active member of their alumni and auxiliary.
Hank married Harry M. Tenbarge in 1968 at St. Joseph Church. From him she got the nickname "Hank" which she lovingly went by thereafter. With a love for God and family, they were always busy with their three boys and all of their activities and sports. Hank also had a love for music, Harry played banjo and she played various instruments. She especially enjoyed playing her harp at nursing homes, the hospital and other events for many years. Hank loved spending time with her family and particularly enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren.
Hank was an active member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, participating in all services and activities. She also traveled on many spiritual pilgrimages around the world. Hank was a participant in a Cursillo group in 1977. Afterwards, she remained a faithful part of a loving prayer group for over 47 years and served in many positions to support and grow the Cursillo movement.
Hank's greatest love in life was always God, family and friends, which she cherished as special gifts.
She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Beth) Tenbarge of Naples, FL and Neil (Valerie) Tenbarge of Louisville, KY; daughter-in-law, Lori Tenbarge of Evansville; and grandchildren, Adam (Megan) Tenbarge, Abby (Grant) Boone and Annie Tenbarge all of Evansville, Sarah Tenbarge and Tucker Tenbarge both of Naples, FL, and Kalin Tenbarge, Rafe Tenbarge and Lane Tenbarge all of Louisville, KY.
In addition to her parents, Hank was preceded in death by her husband, Harry in 1992; son, Sam in 2024; and sisters, Vicky Herrmann and Pat Voges.

Hank was always ready to share her gift of music with others. She played her accordian with me at the St. Mary´s Farmer Market; she played dulcimer and autoharp in a group, autoharp in Strings `n Things. Then on her own, so many nursing homes enjoyed her playing the harp. She will be missed. God bless her as she certainly was a faithful servant!
